Community comes out to support Northolt’s Music Mayhem fundraiser

Despite battling rain, wind and last-minute challenges, Northolt’s community showed its heart on Bank Holiday Monday (26 May 2025) as they turned out to support Music Mayhem – an annual event to raise funds for Meadow House Hospice.

Organised by local residents Lisa and Jason Cole, Music Mayhem took place on Kempton Avenue (UB5 4HF) and raised £450 for Southall’s Meadow House Hospicel, in memory of Marilyn Cole – Mr Cole’s mother – who passed away in 2023 after a six-year battle with cancer. She received end-of-life care at the hospice.

The unpredictable British weather didn’t dampen spirits, with performers and stallholders stepping up and giving the eager crowds great entertainment.

The Gone Country and Party Band saw one member travel from Cornwall just to perform, while frontman Stuart Edwards generously provided PA equipment free of charge. Jazz singer Chukuma came from Essex and tribute act Abba Stars performed through the downpour.

Local heroes also played their part with Hillingdon Dance Theatre’s Helen and her dancers rehearsing for weeks for their special performance.

Children enjoyed a complimentary bouncy castle courtesy of Bounce & Fun, while stalls including Yes It’s Cake, caricaturist Mary, and balloon artist Sarah added flair.

Comedian Philip Simon even handed the mic to young attendees to share their best jokes.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Lisa Cole said: “We would like to thank the support that we get from our community and friends who gave up there time to help run the stalls, as its all in aid of Meadow House Hospice.”

The Cole’s are now planning their next Halloween event for October 2025 and next year’s Music Mayhem.
