Residents and community groups in Acton are being encouraged to bid for a share of £80,000 in Ealing Council funding to help make the town cleaner, greener and more welcoming.
The Acton Community Fund is part of the council’s Your Voice, Your Town programme, which asked people across the borough to decide what improvements mattered most in their area. Acton residents voted overwhelmingly for creating a “clean and pleasant” environment.
Sixteen volunteers, along with local ward councillors, have formed the Acton Town Team to oversee the fund and support local applications. The group will work with residents and organisations to turn community ideas into practical projects.
Paul Mulcahy, a spokesperson for the Acton Town Team, said: “This is Acton’s money, and it’s time for Acton’s people to use it to create the change they voted for. The £80,000 available is for great ideas, both big and small, that will directly contribute to a cleaner, greener and more welcoming town.”
He added: “We know local people are best placed to identify what will make the biggest difference in their own neighbourhoods.”
The fund is open to residents, schools, charities, faith groups and community organisations.
Applications are invited for small grants of between £150 and £1,500 for neighbourhood initiatives, and for larger projects of up to £15,000 that can make a wider impact. Possible schemes include tackling litter and graffiti, improving green spaces, reducing waste or organising community clean-ups.
To help residents apply, the Town Team will hold online information sessions on 11 and 18 November 2025. Drop-in support is also available at Acton Library on Thursdays between 10am and 1pm, with guidance from Ealing and Hounslow Community Voluntary Service.
Applications close at 11.59pm on Sunday 30 November 2025. More information is available at dosomethinggood.ealing.gov.uk
