Metropolitan Police have closed down a large cannabis factory at the disused White Hart pub in Northolt after officers were called to the premises last month following local concerns that an illegal cannabis farm was operating.
Police said officers attended the White Hart on 29 January 2026. The Grade II listed building, located just off the White Hart roundabout in Northolt, has been closed since 2015.
The premises and surrounding grounds have recently been used as a private bus and coach depot, with steel shutters fitted to the main structure.
Officers said the premises was insecure on arrival and entered under Section 17 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Inside, officers found about 300 cannabis plants spread across several rooms, with multiple areas converted for growing. Police said the electrical system had been dangerously tampered with, including evidence of a meter bypass, creating a significant fire and safety risk to neighbouring properties.
Specialists from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks attended to make the electrics safe before officers removed the plants and associated equipment. A crime scene was put in place.
A spokesperson for Greenford Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “This was a substantial and sophisticated cannabis grow that posed a serious fire risk to the public and neighbouring properties due to the unsafe electrical alterations. We are committed to the safety of our communities.”
The case has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
