Police take to Acton Green Common to hear residents’ concerns

More than 100 residents spoke to neighbourhood police about concerns affecting their area at the first event in a new community initiative on Acton Green Common on Sunday (13 September 2026).

Meet the Met was launched after members of the Southfield Ward Panel said they wanted local officers to be more visible and accessible in busy public spaces.

During the event, locals received crime prevention and officers also handed out personal alarms and anti-spiking kits.

Posting on Met Engage, Police Sergeant Christopher Robinson, who covers East Acton and Southfield wards, said: “We listened to feedback from residents who told us they wanted to see more of their local officers in the places they live, work and spend time.

“It was fantastic to speak with so many people, hear what matters most to them and provide practical crime prevention advice.”

The next Meet the Met event is due to take place at Southfield Recreation Ground at 3pm on 10 October 2026.
