The Ealing Eagles Charitable Foundation and EHM Legacy, the community endeavour of Ealing Half Marathon have merged and formed a new local charity, WE RUN EALING.
The merger and new branding of the two aims to expand on their community work of running and getting people of all backgrounds and ages to take part in its activities and volunteering.
Since forming over a decade ago, EHM Legacy has supported a number of local running initiatives including the installation of a drinking fountain in Lammas Park as well as launching Food Bank Run.
WE RUN EALING will be also working with other local running groups and organisations to further expand the number of running projects being offered to residents across the borough and within Acton, Central Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northfields, Perivale and Southall.
Tom Kerry, of WE RUN EALING, who is also Ealing’s Running Mayor said: “Our new ambassador scheme will bring together a group of diverse runners that encourage people of all abilities in their community to be more physically active through running.”
Mr Kerry added: “We are excited to be doing more activities than ever, both big and small. We are particularly looking forward to Ealing’s first ever ultramarathon. We’re calling it the Queen of the Suburbs Ultra. It’s on Saturday 23 March, starting in Gunnersbury Park, and promises to be a fantastic community event.”
