Summer sports programme launches for young people in Ealing

Hundreds of young people in Ealing will be able to take part in free sports activities this summer, including athletics and golf camps, gym sessions and courses offering qualifications that could lead to work.

The programme, run by Everyone Active and Ealing Council, includes a five-day athletics camp at Perivale Park Athletics Track from 10 to 14 August 2026.

It also includes a golf camp and junior gym memberships, with free places available to eligible families through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. Paid-for places are also available for those not enrolled in the HAF programme.

Ealing-raised Paralympian Hilmy Shawwal, who became the first wheelchair racer to represent Tanzania at the Paralympics when he competed at Paris 2024, will join the final-day competition and present awards.

Young people aged 14 and 15 can gain an Assistant Track and Field Official qualification, while a lifeguarding course for 16-year-olds could open up opportunities for work at leisure centres.

Lizzie Rice, activity and wellbeing manager for Everyone Active in Ealing, said: “We want young people in Ealing to have the chance to try something new this summer, build their confidence and make friends, whatever their background.”
