With just four points separating the seven teams battling to steer clear of the fourth relegation spot this was a vital, proverbial six-pointer for Hanwell Town on Saturday (11 April 2026).
That Hanwell ran out comfortable winners was down to their successful conversion of set plays and much sharper shooting than their rivals. Throughout the match the visitors created a number of good chances, but profligate shooting and some fine saves from Hanwell ‘keeper Sam Beasant saw the Town keep a clean sheet.
Hanwell opened their account in the eighteenth minute against the run of play. Having seen his goal-bound header tipped over the bar by Max Evans, Hanwell striker Harvey Bradbury rose in a crowded box to nod in from the ensuing corner.
The second half was a repeat of the first with Weymouth continuing to make chances but failing to open their account. Hanwell made them pay in a magical spell in the middle of the period. In the sixty-fifth minute a corner was partly cleared out to Luke Cook just inside the area from whence he blasted the ball into the goal. Just five minutes later Henry Snee latched on to a through ball to fire across Evans to make it three nil. Just eight minutes after that, three became four, when Eli Oladunjoye’s huge throw was partially cleared in the direction of Bradbury who scored through a whole crowd of players. Weymouth could feel a little hard done by at the margin of their defeat but Hanwell deserved the victory after not getting their just desserts from recent matches.
