‘Belief’ and ‘togetherness’ praised by Hanwell Town coach as his side complete dramatic second half turnaround against Plymouth Parkway on Tuesday (24 February 2026).
First half started in dominate fashion from the away side, most long balls from Hanwell were dealt with by the Plymouth Parkway back line. And down the left-hand side Plymouth found some joy, a superb run by Will Sullivan saw his shot parried by the Hanwell keeper into the path of the oncoming Tyler Love-Holmes who tucked the shot away to put his side 1-0 up just 13 minutes in.
There was more pressure for Hanwell to deal with in the opening 20 minutes, a ball swung in by James Watts-Barciela from the right-hand side narrowly misses Will Sullivan, who started very brightly for the away side. A penalty shout for Hanwell in the 31st minute was perhaps the only thing the home fans had a chance to cheer for as Bradburry latched onto a ball in the Plymouth box before meeting a Plymouth defender, but it was quickly dismissed by the referee.
There was more misery for Hanwell in the first half as just before half-time , the away side grabbed another to put their side 2-0 up. A well-made run from the left saw Mikey Williams get to the byline before driving the ball low and hard across the box before it clipped Captain Sam Beasant on his left foot sending the ball into the net.
A change at half-time for Hanwell saw Joseph Waight depart for Luke Cook changing the game almost instantly. Hanwell were now on top without really threatening Frankie Philips in the Plymouth net.
A corner from Harry Hoath saw the home side pull one back, the ball was swung towards the back post and headed back across goal by Dwayne Duncan as Luke Cook then flicks it past the Plymouth defenders on the line. Since pulling a goal back the home side really piled on the pressure, chances came thick and fast for Hanwell as balls were sent over the bar and crosses were narrowly missed.
In the 73rd minute a delightful cross in from Elijah Olagundoye was beautifully tucked away by Callum Woodcock who flicked the ball into the bottom right-hand corner. The away side had no answer for the Hanwell onslaught and deep into stoppage time the Geordies were in dreamland as they found themselves 3-2 up.
A long throw is sent into the box; the header is won by Harry Hoath and the scramble to the loose ball is won by Harvery Bradbury who touches the ball goal bound before Amaru Kaunda pokes it home in the 94th Minute.
Hanwell move up to 14th in the league while Plymouth Parkways poor form sees them facing the drop. The Geordies face Evesham on Saturday, which looks to be an important battle, as the sides are separated by just one point.
