Trailfinders Women have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Premiership Women’s Rugby season by re-signing versatile fly-half Ella Amory and experienced hooker Amanda McQuade.
Amory, who joined the Ealing club in 2023, has become a standout figure in the backline, moving from scrum-half to fly-half. A former Premier 15s champion with Harlequins, her sharp decision-making and pace have made her central to the Trailfinders’ attack.
Amory said: “I’m pleased to re-sign with Trailfinders Women for another season. Since joining the club two years ago and moving to scrum-half and then fly-half, I feel I’ve really developed my decision making and leadership skills. I’m looking forward to another season of developing further in those qualities and I can’t thank the club enough for trusting me and putting me out there.”
Head Coach Barney Maddison praised Amory’s impact: “Ella’s ability to create opportunities around the rucks and her speed are invaluable to our game.”
McQuade, a former Ireland international who previously played for Railway Union, has also recommitted to the club. Originally a scrum-half, she transitioned to hooker before sustaining an injury that ruled her out for much of the 2024/25 season.
McQuade said: “I’m really excited to be re-signing. I’ve learnt a lot as a player—especially in my new position—and I think I have a lot more to give to this team especially with being out for this last year.”
Maddison described her journey as “inspiring”, adding: “Her resilience, work ethic, and technical skill in the set-piece are exactly what we value here.”
