Residents across Ealing are being invited to take part in the second Ealing Climate Week from 19 to 27 September 2026, with free events and activities taking place throughout the week.
Highlights include a Play Streets weekend, repair cafes, a family-friendly event for nature and climate groups at Pear Tree Park in Perivale, second-hand school uniform giveaways, bill-saving roadshows, discounted rides on Voi and Lime electric bikes and the launch of a new grant scheme to help faith and community groups upgrade their buildings.
Residents, businesses and community organisations are also being encouraged to organise their own events.
As part of Ealing Climate Week, residents can apply for free to hold Play Streets on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026 to coincide with World Car Free Day. The temporary road closures allow children and neighbours to enjoy a few hours of traffic-free play close to home. Applications must be submitted by 3 August 2026 and are subject to council approval.
The first Ealing Climate Week, held in September 2025, featured more than 100 events organised by community groups, charities, businesses and Ealing Council across the borough’s seven towns. Organisers are hoping to build on that success this year.
Groups taking part this year include the Felix Project, Act for Ealing, Cycle Sisters, Ealing Repair Cafe, Ealing GoodGym and Oxfam.
Councillor Dominic Moffitt, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for climate action, said: “Last year it was fantastic to see so many residents, community groups, charities and businesses join us in launching our first ever Ealing Climate Week.
“I hope even more people will get involved this year as we plan to have lots more events which make people’s lives better and benefit the environment. For example, we’ll have more events which help residents save money – whether that’s by sharing advice on cutting energy bills or school uniform swaps to reduce the pressure on parents and stop clothes going to waste. There will be something for everyone, so please get involved.”
