The Metropolitan Police are launching a “Safe Haven” at Southall station this month to help women and girls feel safer on Friday and Saturday nights as part of efforts to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The initiative, known as Southall Haven, will be run by the Southall Green Safer Neighbourhood Team every Friday and Saturday from 10 July 2026 to 1 August 2026, between 7pm and midnight.
Anyone who feels unsafe or vulnerable will be able to use the Safe Haven, including people experiencing harassment, who believe they are being followed, or who need a safe place to wait for a taxi or lift home.
Visitors will also be able to access free drinking water, phone charging facilities, crime prevention advice and support from police officers.
The initiative follows a similar Metropolitan Police Safe Haven that operated at Ealing Broadway station during December 2025, offering late-night support for people travelling home safely.
Posting on Met Engage, Southall Community Inspector Leigh Ballard said: “This initiative aims to help women and girls feel safer within the community by providing a visible point of support and assistance. Please stop by if you need support, have any concerns, or would like to learn more about the work we are doing to tackle violence against women and girls.”
