Reform UK has confirmed it will be standing 60 candidates for Ealing Council in the borough’s local elections on 7 May 2026, marking the first time the party has contested every ward.
While the party is standing candidates in every ward, it is not contesting every seat, with 70 councillors due to be elected across the borough’s 24 wards covering Ealing’s seven towns of Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall.
Ealing Council is currently run by Labour, which has held control since 2010. The council is made up of 56 Labour councillors, alongside eight Liberal Democrats, four Conservatives and two independents.
However, Reform UK has not yet released the names of its candidates. Thursday 9 April 2026 was the final deadline for nominations to be submitted, with Ealing Council due to publish the full list of all candidates on Friday 10 April 2026.
Speaking to EALING.NEWS, Steve Chilcott, chair of Reform UK’s Ealing branch, said: “We are proud and excited to be offering voters a genuine alternative across the whole of Ealing. For the first time, every voter in every ward will have the opportunity to vote for something new – for real change, not the false promises offered by others.”
He added: “We mean business, and we are ready to challenge the complacency, lethargy, and neglect that residents have experienced for far too long.”
Mr Chilcott said the party’s slate of candidates reflects the diversity of the borough, including long-term residents, newer arrivals, small business owners and people with experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
He added: “Our candidates are men and women of different ages and ethnicities, united by a commitment to improving our borough.”
Reform UK said it would step up campaigning activity in the coming weeks, with further details on individual candidates expected to follow.
