Police increase patrols around Acton Morrisons car park

Metropolitan Police have stepped up patrols at Morrisons car park in Acton after locals raised concerns about people gathering there, anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity.

In a statement, officers said they were aware of “individuals congregating” at the supermarket car park, attributing the increase in loitering to recent inclement weather. Police said the situation has caused concern among local people and that “your safety and the wellbeing of our community remain our top priority”.

The Met added: “Our officers have been actively engaging with those involved, conducting searches where appropriate, and taking steps to move individuals on from the area. We will continue to maintain a visible presence and work closely with partners to tackle anti-social behaviour and prevent drug-related activity.”

Police urged anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour, or has information that could help, to report it by calling 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, people should call 999.
