Ealing Book Festival 2027 dates confirmed as event expands

Ealing Book Festival will expand to six days in 2027, continuing its growth from a three-day event when it launched in 2024.

The fourth annual festival will run from 27 April to 2 May 2027, with a week of activities in schools and the community beginning on 19 April 2027.

The festival has expanded each year, from four days in 2025 to five in 2026. This year’s festival attracted 3,400 visitors across 27 events, bringing total attendance since its launch in 2024 to more than 6,500.

The 2027 programme will include talks and discussions with authors, workshops, family activities and a showcase for local writers.

The main events will again be held at three Ealing Broadway venues – the University of West London, Questors Theatre and Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery.

There will also be storytelling sessions in schools across the borough, events celebrating public speaking and communication skills at the University of West London, and a dedicated children’s day in Southall on Saturday 24 April.

Ealing Book Festival chair Catherine Jaquiss said: “Earlier this year the hugely successful third Ealing Book Festival attracted 3,400 visitors to 27 events. Now we’re delighted to announce the dates for Ealing Book Festival 2027, which promises to deliver another inspiring and dynamic celebration of literature, culture, and community.

“Since launching the Festival, we’ve hosted more than 6,500 visitors. We can’t wait to do it all again and bring together readers and writers from Ealing and beyond for our most exciting programme yet.”

Previous festivals have featured authors including Elif Shafak, William Boyd, Hanif Kureishi, Anthony Horowitz, Jung Chang, Tracy Chevalier and Booker Prize winner Eleanor Catton, alongside children’s writers Dame Jacqueline Wilson and Lauren Child.

The full programme, including details of participating authors, will be announced in February 2027, when tickets will also go on sale.
