Ealing’s average gross weekly pay for full-time workers is £795.10, placing the borough in the lower half of London’s earnings table and revealing sharp contrasts with its west London neighbours, according to new figures.
Analysis by CV Maker, based on Office for National Statistics data, shows how sharply pay can change from borough to borough. Hammersmith and Fulham, ranked sixth, records average weekly earnings of £970.60, while Hounslow sits 12th on £861.40. Ealing, ranked 22nd, narrowly outperforms Hillingdon, which is joint 23rd on £789.10, and stands well ahead of Brent, ranked joint 25th with average weekly pay of £766.60.
The City of London tops the charts, with average weekly earnings of £1,278.50, followed by Tower Hamlets on £1,251.20.
Ealing sits far below those financial centres but remains above London’s lowest-paying boroughs. Redbridge ranks last, with average weekly pay of £710.60, followed by Bexley (£718.50) and Merton (£747.00). The gap between the highest and lowest-paying boroughs is £567.90 a week, equivalent to almost £30,000 a year.
Nicky Klaasse, chief executive of CV Maker, said: “These statistics show the disparities across London’s boroughs, with the highest-earning areas clustered around financial districts rather than traditionally wealthy residential neighbourhoods.”
