Letters and drawings from children and communities experiencing the effects of climate change is returning to West Ealing as an exhibition continues its tour across the borough.
Letters from the Global South will be shown for free at the West London Islamic Centre in Singapore Road from 10am to 6pm on 30 September and 10am to 5pm on 1 October 2026, following previous appearances at West Ealing Library, Southall’s Dominion Centre and Ealing Central Library.
The exhibition features accounts from countries including Indonesia, Nigeria and Bangladesh describing how climate change and environmental destruction are affecting people’s lives.
Created by campaign groups Zero Hour and Muslims Declare, the exhibition is being hosted locally by Ealing Friends of the Earth.
A community day will run alongside the exhibition on 30 September, with families invited to bring good-quality unwanted children’s uniforms, clothes and toys to swap. There will also be a seed-potting station and a climate trail for children and families.
Ealing resident Olivia Law-Zygadlo said: “As someone of Indonesian heritage, this exhibition is personal to me. The demand for palm oil in the UK is linked to fires that continue to destroy forests in Borneo, Papua and Sumatra.
“Forests that are home to orangutans, rich biodiversity, and communities who have lived there for generations. One of the letters in the exhibition really brought that home for me. I’d like people in Ealing to see that the things we buy here can have a real impact somewhere else.”
