Greenford Multibank receives Amazon toy donation

A warehouse in Greenford that helps distribute surplus goods to struggling families has received hundreds of children’s toys from online retail giant Amazon, delivered in a fleet of toy-themed cars as part of the retailer’s Christmas campaign.

Felix’s Multibank, run by the food redistribution charity The Felix Project, is one of several “multibanks” across the UK that collect and redistribute surplus items donated by businesses. The Greenford site will distribute the new toys – including LEGO sets, Playmobil kits and interactive Furby plush toys – to families in need across London in the run-up to Christmas.

The delivery is part of a wider initiative involving Multibank hubs in Birmingham, Tees Valley, Wigan, Swansea and Scotland. Together, the network has provided more than 12 million essential items to over 800,000 families since its launch, aiming to tackle both poverty and waste by redirecting unused products to households who need them.

Rachel Ledwith, head of community engagement at The Felix Project, said: “For too many families, Christmas can be a time of worry rather than joy. With Amazon’s generosity, we’re able to provide not just essentials, but toys that bring genuine magic to children and help them to feel included.”
