Fresh appeal to identify man who died by North Acton Underground station in 2010

British Transport Police are appealing to the public to help identify a man who jumped from the bridge at North Acton Underground station and landed on the railways lines nearly 15 years ago.

Despite an investigation into his non-suspicious death, which happened on 26 June 2010 at around 2pm, the man has never been identified and earlier this week on BBC Crimewatch a fresh appeal was made to find any information as to who the person was.

The man is described as white with olive skin, 5 foot 9 inches tall and of slim build. He was in his late 30s to early 40s and had receding dark hair. At the time of his death he was wearing a dark blue jacket (with no clothing underneath) khaki trousers and canvas shoes. The man had a series of tattoos on  his neck, body, arms and legs which included an eagle (right chest), lizard (right arm), devil on motorbike (lower left leg), dolphins & Celtic/tribal symbols (upper left arm).

In a statement, the police said: “British Transport Police are re-investigating a number of non-suspicious deaths across the railway network where the deceased persons have never been identified.

“There was nothing suspicious in any of these deaths but, despite significant enquiries at the time, their identities remain unconfirmed. It is hoped that if these new enquiries are successful, the next of kin may be traced, which will allow their families and friends to have some closure with regards to their disappearance.”

Anyone with any information who can help identify the man is asked to click here.
