Ealing Hospital staff shine at NHS trust wards

Hundreds of NHS workers from across north-west London gathered in Wembley for a night of celebration last month (28 November 2025) as London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) recognised staff at its 2025 Excellence Awards.

The trust, which runs Ealing, Central Middlesex and Northwick Park hospitals, handed out 14 awards to individuals and teams praised for their commitment amid continuing pressure on NHS services.

Six of the awards went to those working with or connected to Ealing Hospital.

TV presenter, musician and campaigner Myleene Klass hosted the event, meeting staff from a wide range of services.

Ms Klass said: “It was great to meet some of the faces from our local NHS trust and learn about their amazing work. It’s certainly not the easiest job in the world, but the enthusiasm and humour on show was heartening to see. We’re lucky to have such a great NHS team in north west London.”

Ealing Hospital staff were prominent among the winners. The Celebrating Equity, Diversity and Inclusion award went to Luxmi Dhoonmoon, a nurse consultant in tissue viability who works across sites. Six North ward at Ealing was named Outstanding Healthcare Team of the Year (Clinical), while Rising Star – sponsored by Grundon – went to Danielle Owens, a staff nurse in cardiology on ward 4 South.

Oral surgery consultant Mohammad (Mo) Sharafa received the Outstanding Leader award for his work at Ealing, and phlebotomist and healthcare assistant Ashraf Mohamed was named Unsung Hero (Clinical). The Chaplaincy team, which supports patients, families and staff across the trust, received the Chief Executive’s Award.

Chief executive Pippa Nightingale said: “It’s the one night we come together to recognise and celebrate the best of the best. An organisation is only as good as its people and it’s inspiring to see staff going above and beyond, despite the changes the NHS is going through at the moment.”
