Disobeying drivers in Ealing

Latest released data from the Department for Transport has found that in 2023, Ealing recorded 21 drivers who were deemed “disobedient” to how they behaved on the road which resulted in road casualties.

The numbers were looked at by car parts marketplace Ovoko which covered drivers who disobeyed automatic traffic signals, disobeyed ‘give way’ or ‘stop’ signs or markings, disobeyed double white lines and disobeyed pedestrian crossing facilities.

Across London, while Ealing recorded 23 drivers being disobedient, nearby borough Hammersmith & Fulham recorded 16 while Hounslow was 15 and Hillingdon was 11.

According to the Department for Transport, there were 1,624 road fatalities in collisions in Great Britain during 2023 which was a decline of 5% compared to 20222.

Speaking to EALING.NEWS, a Ovoko spokesperson said: “Out of all the London boroughs, Ealing has landed itself with 21 disobedient drivers, meaning 5.68 drivers per 100,000 people were disobedient when driving in the area. Though the borough wasn’t in the top 10, it still placed 13th in the ranking; this shows there is room for improvement regarding lack of obedience.”
