Artists and creative businesses in Park Royal are set to benefit from new City Hall funding after the Mayor of London confirmed continued support for Creative Enterprise Zones across the capital.
The Acton and Park Royal Creative Enterprise Zone will receive a share of £630,000 as part of the latest allocation, aimed at supporting artists, designers, photographers and other creatives working in the area. The zone, launched in 2022, is delivered in partnership between Ealing Council and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC).
Announcing the funding, the Sadiq Khan said London’s creative industries were central to the capital’s identity and economy, adding: “Our Creative Enterprise Zones are helping artists and creative businesses put down roots, access affordable workspace and continue to thrive, even as the city changes.”
Park Royal, one of London’s largest industrial areas, is home to hundreds of artists working across a wide range of creative industries.
Matthew Carpen, chief executive of OPDC, said: “Park Royal is home to a thriving and innovative creative community. This funding will help us continue working with partners to support local creatives and ensure culture remains part of the area’s future.”
