Ealing secure London Youth Games badminton silver

Ealing’s young badminton players produced an impressive performance to win the silver medal at the 2026 London Youth Games badminton competition.

The borough finished second behind Bexley at the event, held at Redbridge Sports Centre on 14 June 2026, with Barnet taking bronze after a day of singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches involving 19 London boroughs.

The result capped a strong team effort, with Ealing’s players progressing through the competition to reach the final stages against some of London’s best young badminton talent.

Ealing competitor Alaya said the experience had been about much more than winning a medal.

She said: “It’s been my first time at the LYG today and I’ve made so many friends, built my confidence and made so much progress. To get this medal we’ve had to work really hard.”
