A cinema-themed flower festival marking the 110th anniversary of St Barnabas Church on Pitshanger Lane has helped support seven local charities and community organisations following a successful three-day celebration.
Held earlier this month (16 to 18 July 2026), the Cinema in Bloom festival featured more than 30 floral displays inspired by films with connections to Ealing, including The Lavender Hill Mob and Bend It Like Beckham.
Organisers – the Ealing Flower Club, St Barnabas Church and Pitshanger Pictures – said sponsors, contributors and visitors helped cover the cost of staging the festival, allowing the organising committee to donate £300 to each of the seven beneficiary organisations.
The beneficiaries are St Barnabas Church, the Mayor of Ealing’s charities Stepping Stones and Southall Homeless, The Sunshine Foundation UK, the Caribbean and African Collective Ealing (CACE), REACT and the Ealing Flower Club Christmas Charity Fund.
Biddy Lall MBE, chair of the Ealing Flower Club, said: “Flowers have a unique way of bringing people together and lifting our spirits.
“Seeing St Barnabas filled with colour, music, and smiling faces was a fantastic reminder of what our community can achieve together.”
