Running to help Meadow House Hospice

An Ealing runner is taking on a half marathon every month this year in memory of a close friend – and to raise money for Southall’s Meadow House Hospice, where his friend was cared for.

Derek Hope has already run four 13.1-mile races in 2025 and is getting closer to completing one in under two hours.

Mr Hope said: “I’ve gradually been getting faster. I’ve had my own challenges in the past and was fortunate that people reached out and helped me so now I am giving back.”

He added: “It means a lot to be able to do this for an amazing hospice that does so much to support patients and their families.”

His final two runs will take place in London at the Ealing and Royal Parks half marathons.
