Residents in Ealing can now sign up to a new low-cost counselling service launched by HFEH Mind, designed to make therapy more accessible to those with mild to moderate mental health needs.
From 1 September 2025, the charity will roll out Mind Within Counselling across the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow and Spelthorne. The scheme offers support from a diverse team of counsellors and psychotherapists, including trainees and qualified professionals.
In a statement announcing the new service, it said: “HFEH Mind are thrilled to be able to support residents at a time when every penny counts, offering affordable and accessible support so individuals can navigate life’s challenges, to find peace within.”
The service provides a range of therapeutic approaches, from psychodynamic therapy and person-centred counselling to CBT, gestalt and integrative therapy. Residents can sign up for up to 20 sessions, depending on individual need, with appointments available Monday to Saturday between 10am and 9pm.
To access the programme, residents fill in an online self-referral form or ask a professional such as a GP to do so on their behalf. Each applicant will be invited to a one-hour assessment costing £18, during which they can discuss their concerns and what they hope to achieve. HFEH Mind says this allows the clinical team to recommend the most appropriate therapist, or to signpost the individual elsewhere if the service is not suitable.
Session fees vary according to income, with unwaged residents paying up to £15 per session. Waged clients will be charged between £23 and £43 per session, while psychodynamic therapy carries a flat rate of £48. All payments must be made in advance via the online booking portal.
