A student from Ealing’s University of West London has taken part in a prestigious European programme for emerging film composers.
Federico Crosato, who is studying for an MMus in Composition for Film and TV at the university’s London College of Music, attended the Film Music Orchestral Course at the FAME’S Institute in Skopje, North Macedonia, last month (14 to 19 July 2026). The week-long programme brought together some of Europe’s most promising composers and musicians for professional training in film scoring, orchestration and recording.
Led by internationally renowned composer, orchestrator and conductor Alastair King, the course gave participants hands-on experience of composing and recording film music in a professional studio while working to real production deadlines.
Federico said: “It was a great experience watching my musical ideas being brought to life by an orchestra. I enjoyed working with musicians from across all Europe and getting to know many talented people.”
Dr Simone Spagnolo, head of composition at the London College of Music, praised Federico’s achievement.
He said: “Federico is a strong, highly talented composer and orchestrator, and I have no doubts he will build a successful career.”
