Brentside High School in Hanwell has built on last year’s academic performance — which ranked it among the top 15% nationally for A Levels, and in the top 5% and 16% for Level 2 and Level 3 BTECs — to record even better results in 2025.
More than three-quarters of students achieved at least one top grade at A*/A or Distinction*/Distinction, including the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Even more impressively, 92% of students secured at least one grade at A*-B or Distinction*-Merit.
Overall, A*-A grades accounted for 29% of results, with A*-B at 58%. Vocational qualifications were equally strong: 81% of all BTEC grades were Distinction*/Distinction, and 99% were within the Distinction* to Merit range.
Hider Mahdi, assistant headteacher (Sixth Form), said: “This year’s results reflect the extraordinary commitment and maturity of our students. Whether pursuing A Levels or BTECs, they have embraced every challenge and worked tirelessly to achieve their goals. What stands out most is their genuine curiosity, drive, and desire to make a difference beyond Brentside. They leave us not just with outstanding grades, but with the confidence and character to thrive in the next stage of their journeys.”
Charlotte Hames, headteacher, added: “Our fantastic students have achieved superb results this year, clearly demonstrating that their determination, resilience, and ambition have truly paid off. I am deeply grateful to our families for the unwavering support they’ve shown throughout this journey, and to our staff whose dedication and belief in each student has helped to make this success possible.”
