Ark Soane Academy’s first GCSE students have received their results, with more than half of all grades at the Acton school awarded at 7 to 9.
The school opened in 2021 with its founding cohort of Year 7 pupils, who have now become the first students to complete their GCSEs there.
Overall, 54% of grades were at 7 to 9, equivalent to the former A and A* grades, while 90% of pupils achieved grades 4 to 9 in both English and maths.
Among the highest performers was Eabha Kennedy, who achieved nine grade 9s. She said: “I’m lost for words. I’m so grateful for all of the help my parents and teachers have given me.”
Lily and Olivia Knights received 17 grade 9s between them. Olivia said: “I can’t believe it. The constant encouragement from all my friends and my teachers got me through a really challenging year.”
Nadira Anwar secured eight grade 9s and one grade 8, while Adam Omar achieved seven grade 9s and two grade 8s.
Principal Matt Neuberger said: “I couldn’t be prouder of their achievements – they have worked so hard.”
