Police have made 134 arrests and seized 13 weapons during a four-week crackdown on crime and antisocial behaviour in Southall, the Metropolitan Police has told EALING.NEWS.
The operation ran from 13 July 2026 to 9 August 2026, with the Met confirming the arrests were made as part of the crackdown and were on top of its usual policing in Southall. The weapons seized included knives.
The police crackdown was part of a wider operation with Ealing Council following concerns raised by residents and businesses about crime and antisocial behaviour in parts of Southall.
The council stepped up Parkguard patrols and used CCTV as part of the operation.
Ealing Council told EALING.NEWS that Parkguard officers spoke to more than 120 people, with more than 50 found to have vulnerabilities including health or housing problems. The council said contact with Parkguard did not mean someone was suspected of wrongdoing.
The operation also resulted in offenders being recalled to prison, according to the council.
Councillor Jasbir Anand, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, said: “This work has helped identify offenders causing harm, and also vulnerable people in need of support. We will continue taking robust action against criminal and antisocial behaviour, while working with partners to make Southall a safer place for everyone.”
Superintendent Sean Lynch, from the Metropolitan Police, added: “Our officers have been carrying out targeted activity in Southall to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour and keep local people safe.
“We will continue working closely with Ealing Council and other partners, using local intelligence and information from residents to focus our efforts where they can have the greatest impact.”
