A serving Metropolitan Police officer and a former officer are to appear at Crown Court accused of assaulting a man during a vehicle stop in Southall in 2023.
PC Jason Mugg, 30, and former PC Darren Boast, 40, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (16 September 2026). They were bailed to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
The charges relate to an incident in Carlyle Road on 14 August 2023. It is alleged that unnecessary and disproportionate force was used against a 34-year-old man during a vehicle stop and subsequent arrest.
The man sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment, according to the Met.
Both men were charged with assault causing actual bodily harm on 5 August 2026 following an investigation by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
Mugg is attached to the West Area Command Unit, which covers Ealing, Hillingdon and Hounslow. Boast was attached to the same unit at the time of the alleged incident but has since left the Met.
