Police patrols by the River Brent in Greenford have led to the arrest of a man after suspected Class A drugs, cash and a burner phone were recovered.
The Metropolitan Police said officers on patrol stopped two males near the river close to Ruislip Road earlier this month (3 February 2026) after noticing behaviour that prompted further investigation.
Both were detained for a search under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search, one male was found holding a wrap of suspected heroin, police said.
Further checks revealed the same male was carrying 20 additional wraps of suspected Class A drugs, a quantity of cash and a burner phone. The man was arrested at the scene and the items were seized as evidence.
Police said checks also showed the arrested male was wanted for failing to attend court. He was taken into custody while enquiries continue.
A police spokesperson said: “This arrest shows the value of proactive patrols in identifying and disrupting drug-related crime. We remain committed to keeping our local community safe and acting swiftly on suspicious activity.”
Anyone with information about drug activity or antisocial behaviour is urged to contact police via 101, online reporting services, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
