Ealing Council launches library community hubs

This week sees the launch of Ealing Council’s Library Community Hubs project at Acton Library, Northolt Library and the Southall Dominion Centre.

Events will be taking place across all three sites starting from 1 April 2025 (Southall Dominion Centre) and 2 April 2025 (Acton Library and Northolt Library). The special events will be spread across several days and a full listing of activities can be found here.

The project, which is supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), has seen the libraries being re-imagined and transformed so that its space can be used for a diverse range of events and activities embracing community, cultural and workspace needs.

In an announcement, the council said: “Come and try-out the transformed, flexible, and multipurpose spaces that can host a wider range of activities. These include community, cultural, workspace, support, and customer service offers to support more connected communities and enterprise.”

Blerina Hashani, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities commented on the launch: “Our vision is for our libraries to evolve to meet their community’s needs and become dynamic, multi-use spaces which encourage cultural enrichment and the promotion of community connections.”
