Acton Gardens Community Centre is set to be buzzing with creative energy as Making Moves, a series of free Easter filmmaking workshops, prepares to kick off running from 8 April – 11 April 2025 and 15 April – 19 April 2025.
Led by Ealing filmmaker and producer Michelle Brooks, these workshops for 12-17 year olds and over 18s are the result of a collaboration between ShowPatrol Productions and the London Development Trust.
The initiative aims to empower local residents by developing their digital and creative skills, with a focus on capturing their personal migration stories. Over two weeks, participants will work in groups to devise and shoot their own short films using nothing more than their phones or tablets.
For each age group, there are only 15 spaces available. To register, click here.
Ms Brooks said: “The workshops will be a mixture of classroom teaching and on location learning where you will work in teams to conceive, research, script write, rehearse and perform your short films before a group of your peers before they are filmed and edited and made into a film to be screened around the borough.”
