Hanwell Carnival returns to Elthorne Park on Saturday

One of Ealing’s most anticipated community events is back again as the Hanwell Carnival returns to Elthorne Park in Hanwell on Saturday (20 June 2026) from noon to 6pm after a one year break.

The Hanwell Carnival, which dates back to 1898, is free to attend and attracts over 25,000 people for a day of music, fun, entertainment and community cohesion.

Although the event is returning, the traditional street parade has been cancelled this year because of rising costs.

Organisers have said there will be two stages of entertainment. The Community Stage, curated by Westside Radio, will showcase talent from across the borough. The main Music Stage will feature live performances from The Hanwell Ukulele Group, Those Dirty McGuffins, The Grim Face Marys, The Thrillers,  Primary Scream and Power Jam.

As well as music, the carnival features a children’s area, dog show, petting zoo and donkey rides, local food traders, arts and crafts and a funfair.

More than 30 local charities and organisations will also be taking part and organisers said that it is an important day for charities and their fundraising efforts.

Hanwell Carnival spokesperson Des McManus said: “We are delighted to stage Hanwell Carnival again after the decision to cancel last year. However we used the time wisely by strengthening the organising team and running several fundraising events.”

Mr McManus added: “The response from the community, local businesses and grantors was fantastic and we really found out how much the Carnival means. So we’re looking forward to 2026 with a determination to give everyone in Hanwell and beyond a great day out.”

Financial support which has helped to make Hanwell Carnival happen was provided by The Charity of William Hobbayne, The Ealing Council through the Your Voice, Your Town initiative, and by Heathrow Community Trust’s Communities Together grant programme, which will support both 2026 and 2027 Carnivals.
