Metropolitan Police have launched a crackdown on drug dealing, drug use and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour in Acton after the area recorded the highest number of ASB reports in Ealing over the past year.
Operation Broad Oak has brought extra patrols to locations including The Mount, Woodlands Park and Heathfield Gardens.
According to the police, in its first two days, officers arrested a man wanted in connection with serious offences and charged him with breaching a Community Protection Notice.
Police also carried out a number of stop and searches linked to suspected drug activity, with one person reported for cannabis possession. Several Community Protection Warnings were issued to people involved in drug use and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour.
Police Sergeant George Zealey, from the North and South Acton neighbourhood policing team, said: “Over the past year, Acton has seen the highest number of reported ASB incidents in the borough and it’s clear that a coordinated, long-term approach is needed.”
Extra patrols are expected to continue over the coming months.
