Creative Media students from West London College who are studying at its Ealing Green College campus went to Hammersmith to see ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ at Riverside Studios.
The students were able to also discover local artwork from students on the theme of African kingdoms, followed by a video on Black History Month work in the borough from Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
While there, the creative media students also took part in a talk about African kingdoms, a poetry reading from a student at Fulham Cross Academy – and an Awards presentation by Councillor Sharon Holder, Cabinet Member for Public Realm.
Creative Media Production Level 3 student Daniel Clarke, said: “This was a good trip as we learnt about different African cultures, which were also related to the film that we watched ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. The film was very good and enjoyable and I think that the class as a whole had enjoyed the experience.”
Creative Media Production Level 3 student Pamela Laura Flores, added: “I think the trip was very fun and educational. We learnt about different African cultures and the movie was related to this. As we’re studying nedia, this is very relevant. Watching movies and hearing the lecture about something related to the film helps us enjoy it more. I hope we get to go on more trips!”
