Park Royal looks set to get another data centre after Kao Data bought a former industrial site in the area.
The company has acquired the 4.7-acre former Frogmore Industrial Estate and plans to redevelop it into a new data centre, which it hopes will be ready by 2029.
Kao Data said the site was purchased from Reassure Limited, part of Legal & General, in March this year.
The proposed development would cover around 107,000 sq ft and support artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and other digital services.
Park Royal has increasingly become a hub for data centres because of its power supply and proximity to central London.
Detailed plans for the site are still being prepared, with discussions taking place with the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, local councils and residents before a planning application is submitted.
David Bloom, founder and executive chairman of Kao Data, said the company wanted to work closely with local communities as the project moved forward.
