Ealing girls take London Youth Games gold

Ealing’s girls cricket team have been crowned London Youth Games champions for the third consecutive year after securing gold at the 2026 finals.

The borough’s side triumphed at the London Youth Games Cricket Final held at UEL SportsDock on Sunday (22 March 2026), emerging as one of eight teams to reach finals day from an initial field of 28 boroughs in earlier qualifying rounds.

Ealing produced a series of composed performances to take the title in a closely contested competition, with Redbridge finishing second and Bexley third.

Swara, an Ealing player, said: “It means so much to win the London Youth Games, because our team has come so far in this tournament. I’m really proud of the team.”

Team manager Bobby Behzadi said players from different clubs had quickly built strong connections, adding: “They’ve bonded really quickly… it’s a brilliant achievement.”

The event was supported by the Wilf Slack Young Cricketers Development Trust, which works with the London Youth Games to expand access to cricket for young players across the capital.
