Four polling stations in the South Acton, Perivale, Northolt Mandeville and Dormers Wells wards are proposed to be temporarily relocated for Ealing Council’s local elections on 7 May 2026, under plans due to be discussed by councillors on Tuesday (24 February 2026).
A report by Ross Jackson, the council’s head of elections, to the General Purposes Committee recommends alternative venues after the existing polling places for four districts were confirmed as unavailable. Councillors will decide at the meeting whether to approve the changes, which would apply only to the May elections. The report says the proposed replacements are intended to ensure electors continue to have reasonable facilities for voting, with accessibility requirements taken into account.
The proposals would affect 5,279 electors across the four districts.
In South Acton, voting in polling district DR (1,635 electors) would move from All Saints Church, Church Path, which is being re-purposed, to Acton Gardens Community Centre in Munster Court. The report says the community centre is the nearest available building and is already used as a polling place for a neighbouring district. The report says it is marginally outside the polling district but this does not significantly increase walking distances for electors. It is described as a prominent local building with excellent polling facilities and disabled parking.
In Perivale, voting in polling district JS (1,087 electors) would switch from St John Fisher Church Hall, where extensive building works are under way, to Vicars Green Primary School in Lily Gardens, Wembley. The school has been identified as the closest and most suitable replacement and is described in the report as a prominent local building with excellent polling facilities and disabled parking.
In Northolt Mandeville, voting in polling district QP (1,401 electors) would relocate from Islip Manor Community Centre in Arnold Road, which is currently vacant with property guardians living on site, to the Lord Halsbury Clubhouse, also on Arnold Road. The report says the clubhouse is the only suitable building within the polling district that would avoid the need to close Willow Tree Primary School, and describes it as a prominent local building with excellent polling facilities and disabled parking.
Meanwhile, in Dormers Wells, voting in polling district YS (1,156 electors) would move from Holy Trinity Parish Hall, Park View Road, which is being re-purposed, to the neighbouring Youth Adults Centre on the same road. The report says the Youth Adults Centre is the nearest available building and a council-owned premises adjacent to the previous polling place. It is described as a prominent local building with excellent polling facilities and disabled parking, with the arrangement also set to be reviewed after the election.
