Violent crime leading to injury has fallen across London over the past year, with new figures showing Ealing among the boroughs to record a significant decline.
According to data published by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), Ealing saw these offences drop from 2,858 incidents between September 2023 and August 2024 to 2,621 in the following 12 months. The drop represents an 8.3% reduction. Across London as a whole, violent crime with injury fell from 73,057 offences to 64,364, a reduction of 8,693 cases, or 11.9%.
The downward trend was also seen in neighbouring boroughs. Brent fell from 2,790 to 2,656 incidents, down 4.8%. Harrow fell slightly, from 1,254 to 1,242, down 1%. Hounslow recorded a sharper drop of 11.5%, from 2,486 to 2,201. Hammersmith & Fulham fell from 1,782 to 1,625, down 8.8% while Hillingdon dropped from 2,213 to 2,104, down 4.9%.

Bassam Mahfouz, the London Assembly member for Ealing & Hillingdon, said tackling violent crime was a key priority for residents: “It’s incredibly positive to see that across London and in particular here in Ealing we’re seeing a significant drop of 8.3% in the number of violent crimes leading to injury.”
Mr Mahfouz added: “The record investment in the police by the Mayor and the Violence Reduction Unit is clearly having the desired effect.”
