Two Ealing schools swept the competition at the GB NFL Flag 2025 National Championships, with Little Ealing and Ealing Fields securing all three top titles on offer and booking places at major international tournaments.
The Ealing schools emerged as national champions yesterday (17 June 2025) in the 11U Mixed, 13U Mixed, and 15U Girls categories during the finals held at Leeds Beckett University.
The event brought together 28 schools competing across 11U Mixed, 13U Mixed, and 15U Girls categories, with this year’s series seeing record engagement- over 480 schools took part in qualifying rounds nationwide.
Little Ealing School dominated the 11U Mixed tournament, earning their third title in four years with a commanding 28-0 win over Ysgol Gwynedd. Their victory secures the team a coveted place at the International NFL Flag Championship in the United States.
Ealing Fields made a clean sweep in two categories. Their 13U Mixed team defeated Windlesham House 27-13 and will now represent the U.K. at the NFL Flag Championship hosted at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio next month (17 – 20 July 2025). Meanwhile, the school’s 15U Girls team toppled reigning champions Mount Carmel 21-6 to qualify for the NFL Flag Continental Series: Europe, set to take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this October.
The tournament welcomed 280 participants and featured special guests including Britain’s first female NFL coach Phoebe Schecter, former NFL player Jason Bell, and West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin. Members of Team GB’s Flag Football squads and Sky Sports NFL host Neil Reynolds also attended.
NFL UK & Ireland general manager, Henry Hodgson said: “We were delighted to be able to bring our GB NFL Flag National Championships to Leeds for the first time in 2025.
