Nominations now open for 2025 Young Ealing Foundation Awards

Nominations are now open for the fourth Young Ealing Foundation Awards (YEF Awards), which will take place on 25 September 2025, celebrating the achievements of young people across the borough.

Organised by the Young Ealing Foundation, the annual awards bring the community together to recognise the contributions of young people and the individuals and organisations who support them.

Nominations can be made online until 26 May 2025 and there are 11 awards split across two categories.  The first one is for young people under 25 and the second is for groups, organisations, projects and individuals who support children and young people in Ealing.

YEF said of the Under 25 category: “These awards celebrate the incredible young people in Ealing who are making a difference. Whether they’re leading change, fighting for equality, creating opportunities, or showing resilience in the face of challenges, we want to recognise their impact. From young activists and entrepreneurs to volunteers and leaders, these awards shine a light on the passion, talent, and determination of the next generation.”

The under 25 award categories are: Young Activist, Young Leader, Young Volunteer, Young Entrepreneur and Overcoming Adversity.

For those supporting young people the awards are: Outstanding Youth Professional, Partnership, Youth Voice, Spaces for Young People, Fighting Inequality and Big Impact.

YEF said of this category: “These awards honour the organisations, projects, and partnerships that are dedicated to creating opportunities, amplifying youth voice and making a lasting impact on young people’s lives in Ealing. Whether they’re providing safe spaces, championing inclusion or driving real change, these organisations are at the heart of our community, ensuring young people can thrive.”

EALING.NEWS spoke to Tanya Taylor, director of development and external engagement at Young Ealing Foundation to find out more.

This is the fourth YEF awards, what has made it so popular since it launched and what excites you about it?
“We’re incredibly proud of how the YEF Awards has grown year after year, and we believe its success comes down to the fact that it’s a truly special event – one that brings the whole community together to celebrate the brilliant achievements of Ealing’s young people, youth organisations and youth professionals. So many of these incredible individuals are the ‘unsung heroes’ of our borough, and the awards give them the recognition they truly deserve.

“What excites us most? Everything. From shining a spotlight on the amazing talent and impactful projects happening right here in Ealing to the electric energy on the night itself. It’s an opportunity to celebrate in front of a wide audience – including MPs, councillors, local businesses, charities, families and young people – showcasing just how brilliant our borough is. Year after year, the YEF Awards prove that Ealing has so much to be proud of and we love being part of that moment.”

How exciting is it to put it on?
“It’s incredibly exciting to bring the YEF Awards to life! From the moment nominations open to scouting local performers and finally seeing everyone come together on the night, every step of the journey is special. Last year, we welcomed 270 attendees, and the energy in the room was absolutely electric.

“What makes it even more exciting is that the entire event is co-produced and co-hosted by young people – our amazing Ealing Young Champions – alongside brilliant co-presenters from the local community. We’ve even had incredible moments like a special message from actor Will Poulter last year!

“It’s without a doubt the highlight of our year and we can’t wait to do it all over again.”
