Ealing Police through its Ealing Safer Neighbourhoods Team are organising an evening run and walk in Walpole Park on Wednesday (19 February 2025). The event aims to help raise awareness of the Met’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) initiative and what help and support residents can expect from them.
Police officers, including some of its most senior team, will be on hand to talk to women and girls across Ealing and explain what the borough force is doing to tackle local issues.
In a statement, Ealing Police said: “The police wish to offer a safe space to talk to the local community and let the community talk to the police in a fun and friendly environment.”
The event is open to everyone in the community and residents are invited to meet at the Mattock Lane entrance for Walpole Park at 6pm on 19 February 2025
Speaking to EALING.NEWS, an Ealing Safer Neighbourhoods Team spokesperson said: “I really hope many people from across the London Borough of Ealing attend this event; officers on the Safer Neighbourhoods command wish to talk Ealing residents and actively listen to concerns within the community about where women and girls may feel unsafe, and then act upon what we are told.”
“We expect this to be a fun packed event and it is open to literally anyone and everyone to come along and take part – however the message is loud and clear violence against women and girls will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Hope to see you all at 6pm in Walpole Park.”
