More volunteers needed for Ealing Half Marathon

The Wizz Air Ealing Half Marathon still needs 400 volunteers to help run this year’s event on 26 and 27 September 2026, with route marshals the most urgently needed.

More than 700 volunteers are needed each year to support the annual event, which is celebrating its 15th year. Roles include marshalling the route, staffing water stations, managing baggage, helping in the race village at Walpole Park and assisting with set-up.

Organisers say no previous experience is required, and volunteers are asked to commit between four and six hours. Individuals, community groups, charities, businesses and sports clubs are all invited to take part.

Sandra Courtney, event director of the Ealing Half Marathon, said: “Runners tell us every year that the support on this course is unlike anything else in London. Whether you come alone or bring your whole club, congregation or office, we have a role for you.”

Volunteers who complete a shift will receive free entry to the 2027 Ealing Half Marathon, along with food and drink on the day.

The event, which began in 2012, says it has raised more than £3.5 million for charity.
