Bracknell Town beat Hanwell Town 2-1 on Saturday (29 November 2025) as Jack Mazzone scored against the Geordies for the second time in two weeks.
Having only moved to Bracknell from Chertsey Town on Thursday – where he scored for the Curfews in their 2-1 victory against Hanwell earlier in November – Mazzone came off the bench to fire an injury-time winner into the Geordie net.
Playing at Bracknell’s Bottom Meadow stadium, just minutes away from Sandhurst’s prestigious officer training school, it was the home side that took charge of the first half when Seb Bowerman coolly converted a 27th minute penalty.
Moments later, Hanwell nearly found the perfect response as Jordy Mongoy broke down the right and found Alfie Pendlebury – only for Pendlebury’s subsequent goal to be chalked off for offside.
As Hanwell captain, Sam Beasant, ensured Bracknell didn’t pull further ahead with several good saves; the Geordies had multiple opportunities to pull level in the second half. Mongoy could have done better with a close-range header, Kam English forced an unbelievable stop from the Robins keeper and Dan Carr fired wide after finding himself free at the back post.
In the 89th minute though, Calum Woodcock made amends for giving away Bracknell’s first half penalty and found a Hanwell equaliser with a brilliant header.
But during injury time, it was the Robins who managed to secure all three points. Hanwell keeper, Beasant, could only parry a Giovanni Mcgregor shot into the path of Mazzone – who calmly slotted home in the 94th minute.
Speaking after the match, Hanwell manager, Chris Moore, said he thought a draw would have been “a fair result”, but that his team would “dust themselves down and be ready” for Tuesday’s home game against Farnham Town. Tickets can be found here.
