Ealing Trailfinders Women are through to their first Premiership Women’s Rugby final after ending Gloucester-Hartpury’s three-year grip on the title.
The West London side produced the biggest result in their short history in the competition with a 29-26 victory on Sunday (14 June 20026) over the reigning champions, setting up a final against Saracens at The Stoop on 28 June 2026.
Trailfinders looked in control for much of the semi-final, racing into a 24-7 lead before half-time. But Gloucester-Hartpury fought their way back into the contest, leaving supporters facing a tense final quarter as the visitors closed the gap.
When the final whistle sounded, players, coaches and fans celebrated a victory that keeps alive hopes of a first league title just three years after the club entered the Premiership.
Barney Maddison, head coach of Trailfinders Women, said: “Reaching the final is a fantastic achievement, and I am incredibly proud of the passion, determination and togetherness that this squad has shown.
“To be in this position just three years after the club joined the league is a testament to the hard work that goes on each week in training and on matchdays.”
Victory over Saracens later this month would complete one of the fastest rises seen in the women’s game.
