Jeremy Corbyn, the independent MP for Islington North, will address a public meeting in Southall next week as part of efforts to build support for Your Party, the political initiative he launched in the summer (July 2025) with fellow MP Zarah Sultana, who represents Coventry South.
The event, hosted by Ealing Community Independents in partnership with the Indian Workers Association (GB) and Southall Monitoring Group, will take place on Monday (6 October 2025) starting at 6.30pm at The Centre on 20 Merrick Road. Organisers describe it as a grassroots meeting aimed at debating the kind of party needed locally and planning next steps for both Your Party and Ealing Community Independents.
Mr Corbyn, the former Labour Party leader, will be joined by Claudia Webbe, the former Labour MP for Leicester East, Imam Junaid Dar of West London Mosque and Craig Smith of Ealing Community Independents. The meeting will be chaired by Suresh Grover of the Monitoring Group.
Attendees will be invited to contribute to discussions on defending public services from cuts and privatisation, confronting the rise of Reform UK and the far right, and scrutinising council investments linked to alleged human rights abuses.
