Ealing MPs vote on Kemi Badenoch’s amendment

MPs in Ealing have voted on Kemi Badenoch’s amendment for a national inquiry into child sexual abuse by grooming gangs with Ealing Central and Acton MP Dr Rupa Huq abstaining from the vote while Ealing Southall MP Deirdre Costigan and Ealing North MP James Murray voting against it.

The vote tonight (8 January 2025) in Parliament was defeated with 111 MPs voting Yes to the amendment and 364 voteing No.

Among the parties, the Conservatives saw 101 MPs voting for it while 16 abstained. 350 Labour MPs voted against and 49 abstained while all 72 Lib Dems MP abstained. Reform UK saw all of its 5 MPs voting for it while the Green Party saw 2 voting against and 2 abstaining.
