A charity that has been supporting homeless and vulnerable people with food in Acton since October 2022 has said it will further expand its services in 2025.
Who Is Hussain London, which operates outside Morrison’s on King Street every Sunday from 3pm – 5pm, gets between 60-80 people every weekend using the service and since 2022 says it has served nearly 10,000 meals.
As well as hot food prepared and cooked by volunteers, the charity also provides fruit, snacks and hot drinks. Other services it helps to offer for locals includes free haircuts, clothes donations and sanitary kit giveaways.
Kumail Jaffer, from Who is Hussain London, said: “We are delighted to keep serving the homeless and needy people of Acton. We have held more than 100 Food Drives since late 2022, serving thousands of meals to those who need it. This is in the spirit of Hussain Ibn Ali, whose charitable values inspire our actions today.”
Mr Jaffer added: “In 2025, we will continue to improve and expand our operation to ensure anyone who needs a helping hand in Acton gets it. We also thank the people of Acton for their generosity in supporting our work.”
