Winter coat collection returns to Ealing Broadway shopping centre

An appeal to donate unwanted winter coats has been launched at Ealing Broadway shopping centre, following a collection last year that saw coats distributed through Ealing Soup Kitchen and local youth clubs to people in need.

The shopping centre has partnered with charity Calling London for the fifth consecutive year, with donations being accepted until 29 November 2026.

Coats can be donated at a collection point outside Tesco Express at the shopping centre, with all donations going to Calling London for distribution to people in need.

Last year’s appeal collected 765 coats, which were distributed across London, including to local groups in Ealing.

The charity, which was founded in 2010, is accepting clean, good-quality coats of all sizes, from babies to adults, including wool coats, padded jackets, duffle coats and ski jackets. Thin rainwear, cagoules, fleeces, jumpers and workwear jackets cannot be accepted.

Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway shopping centre, said: “Winter can be a difficult time for many, and we’re determined to do what we can to support those around us that are in need.”

Frances Manthos, co-founder of Calling London, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the centre’s continued support and to its visitors for helping us provide warm coats to Londoners who need them most.”
